Floyd L. "Jack" Reed, Jr., a family man and respected community member, passed away on November 19, 2025, in Fairborn surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 10, 1932, in Dugger, Indiana, the son of the late Floyd Sr. and Dorothy (Eisman) Reed. Jack graduated from Bath High School class of 1949 and the University of Dayton. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and followed with employment as a calibration engineer in civil service at Wright-Patterson AFB. Jack had a profound sense of duty toward his community, served as the Past Commander and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 526 in Fairborn. His commitment to youth and civic engagement was further demonstrated through his role as a Trustee for the American Legion Buckeye Boys State. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Patty; and grandson, Zachary Reed. Jack is survived by three children, Samuel Gus (Cheryl) Reed, Matthew (Kathy) Reed, and Holly (Don) Banford; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gladys Frier and Juanita Strickland; as well extended family and friends. A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.
