Lyle Don Lowe of Mustang, OK, passed away on August 13, 2024, surrounded by his family. Lyle was born to Jim and Margaret Lowe on October 23, 1947, and lived in Watonga, OK, where he graduated from Watonga High School in 1965. He later attended Tonkawa Jr. College and Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
While at Tonkawa, he met and soon married the love of his life, Cheri Lyn Haynes, in 1968.
After attending SWOSU, they soon moved to Oklahoma City where he worked at several tire companies. In the 1980s, he decided to open his own business. It was at this time that Double L Tire came into existence.
Lyle flourished as a business owner as everyone called him "a salesman's salesman". All of his friends and customers knew him fondly as simply "Double L".
It seems like everyone knew Lyle. Whether he was selling tires, playing golf, or singing and playing his guitar, Lyle was always a big personality with a warm and generous heart to those he loved. Lyle loved his family and coached his boys in all the sports they played and loved watching his grandchildren in all their activities.
Lyle is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Margaret; and his sister Lynda Brand.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Cheri, of the home; his son, Justin and wife Maggie and their children, Addison and Crew; and son Jay and children, Mason, Jaxson, London, and Libby.
Public visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 21st, from 4-7pm at McNeil's Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 22nd, at Life.Church in Mustang at 1pm. Burial will follow at Mustang Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life for Lyle will be held at a future date and time.

R.I.P. Lyle Don! Lots of memories of playing baseball with you, running around and even, but only rarely, "raising Cain". One of the toughest football players I've known. Great friend, great family!

I'll always remember being at Lyle's Christmas parties at the CzechHall in Yukon!
He played his guitar, sang songs, drank, danced and ate.
Cheri always made her great tasting potato soup.
Lyle touched sooo many people and I was proud to be one.

The last time we spoke he was happy to hear that I was playing music. I always looked forward to talking with Mr. Lyle. I will miss calling him and hear his voice say "what kind of deal you have on tires for me Cocktail" RIP Pal!

Lyle always chose me to be his partner in golf, even though he was much better than me. He always said "come on buddy, I will drag you to the top "! Even against Gary and Dennis, my other best friends and better golfers than me, Lyle chose me. Lyle always played hard, to win.
