Lyle Eugene Wille

Lyle Eugene Wille, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on September 11, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on April 30, 1943, in Hull, Iowa, to the late Earl J. Wille and May Louise Daggett Gibson, Lyle grew up in a loving family alongside his siblings, Loren Wille, Laverne Wille, Laren Wille, Linda Franklin, and the late Leroy Wille.

Lyle's life was a testament to his dedication and love for his family. He is the beloved husband of Gay Wille, sharing 63 years of cherished memories, and the adored father of Michelle Wolsefer (Wesley), Karl Fourroux (Donna), and Michael Wille (Jenna). His joy was multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren, Adam (Anna), Amanda (Luke), Andrew, Chloe, Justin (Kasey), Kristin (Mason), and Karli (Tony), who will forever treasure their memories with their grandfather. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren. Luca, Graham, Eloise, Wade, Kori, Krew, Hudson, and Lilly, and a host of extended family and friends, all of whom he loved greatly.

After earning an associate's degree in the United States Navy, Lyle honorably served his country for 20 years, where he earned numerous commendations including the Vietnam Service Medal and the Navy Achievement Medal. He earned the rank of Chief Petty Officer before retiring. His post-military life saw him working in the oil industry with MI Drilling for almost 15 years before building homes with his son-in-law, Wes, and Custom Craft Homes. Lyle's work ethic and commitment to excellence was second to none. He left a lasting impact on all who worked alongside him.

A man of faith, Lyle was a devoted parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, where he found great solace and community. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him in his daily actions and serving as a source of strength and inspiration for his family and friends.

As we bid farewell to Lyle Eugene Wille, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of moments that touched the lives of others in profound ways. His spirit will continue to guide us, and his memory will be treasured forever. Lyle's journey on earth may have concluded, but the stories and love he shared will resonate for generations to come.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a service on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Audubon Funeral Home in Slidell, LA. A Funeral Mass with Military Honors will begin in the chapel at 10:00 a.m. Lyle will be laid to rest in Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia, LA, at 2:30 p.m. Memories and condolences may be expressed at www.AudubonFuneralHome.com
