Lyman Edward Mann, 79, passed away on February 3, 2026, in the Tampa, Florida VA hospital. He was born on December 13, 1946, in Bangor, Maine, and was raised in Surry, Maine, by his parents, John and Cornelia Mann, who preceded him in death.
Lyman was a graduate of Ellsworth High School, Class of 1965, and attended Southern Maine Vocational School. He honorably served his country in the United States Army with the 34th Engineer Battalion in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970. After his time in the service, he went to school in Florida. Then, he began working as a heavy equipment operator for Harold Mac Quinn Inc for over 45 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Rose Barbour Mann; Sisters-in-law Arlene Gaudy (John), and Susan Dunham (Kevin); along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in law Beverly Ann Beal, brother-in law George Armstrong (Yvette).
Lyman loved traveling, gardening, the woods, trains, fishing and ice fishing, and he always dreamed of visiting Alaska. Lyman had hobbies of collecting stamps and rock polishing.
