John W. Strydom, 78, passed away on February 17th, 2026 in Zephyrhills, Florida. John was born on July 25th, 1947, to his parents John and Susan Strydom, in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
John married the love of his life, his wife, Hester, in 1968, and the they would go on to have three children together. He supported his family by working as a mechanic, a career he would retire from in 2022.
John loved bass fishing, but more than anything he loved to spend time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his wife, Hester Strydom; his son, John Strydom; his parents, John and Susan Strydom; and many of his siblings.
John is survived by his brother, Hendrick Strydom; his sister, Margie Thompson; his son, Ian (Merinda) Strydom; his daughter, Brenda (Willie) Viljoen; his grandson Daniel Strydom and his granddaughters Kelly and Juanita Viljoen.
The family will be having a private celebration of life at sea at a later date.
