Obituary
We are sad to announce the passing of Lynda Susan Socks, 79, of Chambersburg, PA, who passed on Wednesday, Apil 26, 2023.
Born November 6, 1943, in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Roy Hart, Sr., and Virginia Dunkle.
Lynda was a graduate of South Hagerstown High School, Class of 1961.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 50+ years, Donald E. Socks.
She was a loving wife and mother to her husband and children.
Lynda enjoyed gardening, cooking, bowling, swimming, playing cards, and going to church.
She is survived by her son, Donald Socks (Michele), grandchildren, Donald W. Baer Socks (Giselle), Kirk, Wayne, and Jeff, great grandchildren, Gracie, Chloe, Donald, Lilyanna, and Axel, and sister Marcie Higdon (Lenny).
In addition to her husband, and parents, she is preceded in death by one daughter, Tawnie Parks and husband Tim, her brothers, Roy and Billy Hart and grandchild, Amanda S. Baer-Socks.
Donations can be made to Wayside Baptist Church, 21303 Leiter Street, Hagerstown, MD, 21742.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at 1:00 pm, and J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave, Smithsburg, MD, 21783, officiated by Pastor Jeremy Kitchen. Family will be receiving friends one hour prior to service.
