Lynette M. Lear, 72, of Jonestown, traded this world for the next on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from the comfort of her home. Born in Lebanon on October 11, 1952, Lynette was the daughter of the late John and Arlene J. (Hemperly) Lear. She retired from the Pennsylvania State Insurance Department so many years ago, it's hard to believe she ever worked at all. She was a proud lifetime member of the Annville VFW Post #8023 Ladies Auxiliary. She loved music that moved her-R&B, Salsa, and classic Soul-and was often caught dancing in the kitchen. Purse shopping was her sport of choice (she never met a bag she didn't want to take home). When her nose wasn't buried in her iPad playing slots or Disco Ducks, she could happily dive into a movie marathon or fall down an internet rabbit hole, playing the insatiable detective. She was a fanatic for the full moon-especially when it glowed big, bold, and orange. She was happiest with a glass of Merlot in hand, sharing vineyard adventures with her daughter and sister. Lynette leaves behind her daughter, Melissa J. Cruz, of Easton, and Melissa's boyfriend, Phil Gracey; her sister, Barbara A., wife of Asahel Lukens, of Jonestown; her nephew, Curtis J. Lear, Jr., of Florida; and her close friend, Karen Caldwell, of Harrisburg. She is reunited in peace with her brother, Curtis J. Lear, Sr. A celebration of Lynette's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park, North Annville Township. Her laughter and deep hatred of her whispy hair will be greatly missed. And if you look up at the big orange moon, you might just imagine her smiling-purse in hand, glass of Merlot nearby, and her iPad fully charged forever.

I am truly saddened by the news of Lynette's passing; I only spoke with her one time at the Lebanon Senior Center. We spoke fondly of her brother Curt, I worked with Curt a few years ago. I told her what a great person he was, she was thrilled to hear my good memories, it brought tears to her eyes hearing it all which then brought tears to my eyes. Lynette was as lovely a person as her brother. RIP.
