Lynette was born in
Carroll, Iowa, to Anton "Tony" and Bertha (Kraus) Broich on August 10, 1936. She met Al Lehrter, and they were married on August 21, 1954. Lynette was a strong, kind, and generous person-an excellent cook and baker who made thousands of cookies, treats, and dishes for her family, friends, neighbors, and community. She loved to dance-at the Arcadia Legion Hall, in the car, in her kitchen, or in her living room-anywhere you might find a polka playing. She tended a large garden filled with her favorite vegetables and flowers. A devoted member of St. Lawrence Parish, she served as a Eucharistic minister and was active in her parish's Women's Guild.
Lynette is survived by her son, Dale; her daughter, Barb, and her husband, Jerry Schumacher; her grandson, Luke, and his wife, Sonya, and their two sons, Kyler and his fiancée, Kelsie Gordon, and Brady Schumacher and his fiancée, Jesse Skaggs; her granddaughter, Allison Schumacher, and her husband, Brian Coates; and her sister, Elaine, and her husband, Bob Fleskes, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Al Lehrter; her parents, Tony and Bertha Broich; her siblings, Raymond Broich, Louie Broich, Adeline Dameron, Lucille Fischer, Rosie Long, and Lorraine Kennebeck; sisters-in-law, Mildred Broich and Lois Broich; and brothers-in-law, Leonard Fischer, Ed Riesenberg, Howard Long, and Verlin Kennebeck.
The family of Lynette Lehrter extends their sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of Regency Health and Rehabilitation Center, the third-floor nurses at St. Anthony's Regional Hospital in Carroll, and a special thank-you to the caring neighbors who were always there to support.
