Lynn G. (Begor) Munroe, 68 of Enfield, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024 peacefully at home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Athol, Massachusetts on February 24, 1955 to Richard and Lillian (Strong) Begor. When she was 7 years old, an unimaginable tragedy happened to her family. There was a house fire where only she and her father were able to escape while her brother Richard was in the Navy. Her mother, Lillian, brother Bruce, and 2 sisters, Kim and Kelly tragically perished in the fire. Her father eventually remarried her step mother, Evelyn and welcomed a step sister Linda and Robert and then brother James. When she was 19, she married the love of her life, William Munroe on September 28, 1974. Together they raised their family of 4 boys, Keith, Matthew, Travis and Mark in Enfield. Family meant everything to Lynn. She stayed at home to raise her family while Bill worked and she was the President of the Munroe Clan. Going to the boys sporting events, listening to them practice drums and cooking for her family brought her so much joy. She was also known as the "Parade Lady" and went to all the Enfield parades and beyond. You would know it was Lynn because she was most likely wearing tie-dye as that was her favorite thing to wear. Bill and Lynn would take camping trips and vacations with the family to Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Acadia National Park. After the boys became men, she and Bill enjoyed Caribbean cruises, and trips to Vero Beach, Florida. When she became a grandmother, being with her grandchildren meant so much to her and even had weekly lunch dates with her grandson and made him whatever he asked her to make. Lynn just loved music, mostly Rock with her favorite being the Rolling Stones. She was not a fan of Jazz or Jimi Hendrix even though Bill loved it. In her final days, she listened to her favorite play lists constantly. Her family was with her always and including her brother Jim and step sister Linda who she was so very close to. They took very good care of her and made certain she knew she was loved.
Left to mourn Lynn are her husband of 49 years William Munroe; sons Keith (fiance' Sarah) of Ellington, Matthew Munroe of Suffield, Travis Munroe (girlfriend Heather) of Enfield, Mark (fiance' Amy) of Enfield; grandchildren Dylan, Collin, and Alex Munroe, Jade and Quinn Yergeau-Munroe, Brayden and Peter Munroe and Daisy Munroe; brothers Jim Begor and Larry Williams; step sister Linda LeFebre; several nieces and nephews. Lynn was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Lillian Begor; brothers Bruce Begor and Richard Begor; sisters Kim Begor and Kelly Begor.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 4-6 pm at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, CT with a Funeral Home Service following at 6pm.
