Lynn Nichols August 1, 1957 – October 5, 2025
After a courageous 13-year battle with cancer, Lynn Nichols was welcomed home into the arms of his Savior on October 5, 2025. He faced every trial with steadfast faith, quiet strength, and an unshakable trust in the Lord who sustained him.
Born in Boyce, Louisiana, on August 1, 1957, Lynn was the son of K.C. and Irene Nichols. He graduated from Boyce High School and earned a degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University.
Lynn began his career with International Paper, serving as a Process Control Engineer for 20 years in locations across the South. He later worked in the medical device industry with McKesson APS and Hill-Rom, where he received several awards and took great pride in helping design devices that saved many lives. Even after illness led him to early retirement, he continued to serve others through private consulting and mentorship.
A man of deep faith and humility, Lynn faithfully served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and mentor. He had a true servant's heart and a passion for missions, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a word of encouragement. Yet his greatest ministry was within his own home. His highest honor in life was leading his family in the ways of the Lord. He modeled faith through every season, teaching, praying, and nurturing his family with patience, wisdom, and unconditional love. His family knew the strength of his prayers, the depth of his love, and the peace that came from his steadfast walk with God.
He also found joy in God's creation, spending countless hours fishing, hunting, and enjoying good food and fellowship with family and friends. He approached every part of life with curiosity, kindness, and gratitude.
Lynn is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Lanell Nichols, his son and daughter-in-law Kasey and Angie Nichols, and his cherished granddaughter Chloe Nichols. He is also survived by his brothers Billy Nichols (Tioga) and Ken Nichols (Colfax), mother-in-law Audrey Goings (Marthaville), brother-in-law Greg Goings (Marthaville) along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who loved him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his parents, K.C. and Irene Nichols, his sister Linda (Nichols) Buckhalter, and his nephew Kevin Nichols.
A celebration of Lynn's life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., followed by fellowship at First Baptist Church, 612 Londonderry Avenue, Boyce, Louisiana.
Lynn's life was a reflection of Christ, faithful in service, steadfast in love, and strong in spirit. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of faith and the example he set for his family will continue to shine for generations to come.
