Lynn Partington, 88, of Sparta, Illinois; born on April 15, 1937 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Klondis and Lucille (née, Lynn) Pirtle; passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at St. Louis De Greeff Hospice House.

Lynn was a graduate of Sparta High School and continued her education at Millikin University in Decatur, IL. She received a bachelor's degree in education and was also a member of her beloved Delta Delta Delta sorority staying active throughout her life as an alumni. She was a teacher at Sparta Lincoln for many years, teaching 5 th through 7 th grade. Lynn also taught Sunday School for over 50 years, with most of that time teaching at Westminster church. She was a devoted Christian who was very involved with her church family. Lynn also traveled to multiple nursing homes to help spread the word of God through bible studies. Once she moved to Assisted Living she started a bible study in her home. She led the Junior Choir at Westminster for decades, and also enjoyed participating in the adult church choir and in the Sparta Community Chorus. She was also a passionate, lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Lynn is survived by two children – David Partington of St. Louis, MO and Lynda (Cheryl) Partington of Mesa, AZ; daughter-in-law – Sue Partington of Orinda, CA; two granddaughters – Katie Partington of Seattle, WA and Christine Partington of San Diego, CA; brother – Konnie (Carol) Pirtle of Sparta, IL; sister – Carole Anthony of Roseville, MN; beloved sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – David Lawrence "Larry" Partington, Sr.; two sons – Larry Partington and Bruce Partington.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church.

The Visitation will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sparta, IL on Saturday, November 29, 2025 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Richard McDaniel officiating. Committal Services will take place at Caledonia Cemetery immediately following the church service.
