Rochester - Saturday August 12, 2023
Lynne Ann Driffill, 73 of Ogden, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023 after a long, seven year struggle from a stroke. She passed peacefully and pain free while in the loving care of The Aurora House in Spencerport NY. We hold immense gratitude for the staff at Aurora house for their comforting care.
Lynne Ann Driffill, born on September 11, 1949, in Rochester, NY, resided in her hometown throughout her entire life. Lynne was a spitfire at times and owned a bar called Doc Holidays, where many stories tell of her occasionally being known as what some called "fierce." She loved all her family and friends with that same fire and everyone knew it. She was not timid to speak up or, on occasion, even stand up in order to protect the ones she loved with that fire and passion. Lynne stopped drinking in the early 90s and with it became a new person who referred to her past as her "other life". She loved spending time with her loved ones, and even though sobriety made her a bit different from her "other life," the fire still burned inside Lynne in her unconditional love for her family and friends. However, it burned the brightest for her grandchildren, whom she absolutely cherished and loved "to the moon and back".
Devoted to her role as the information desk supervisor at Highland Hospital, we have heard many cherished recollections of Lynne, where her warm smile served as a constant presence.
Lynne was predeceased by her loving parents Richard & Jane Thorpe. Sister, Diana Paige, Brother, Richard Thorpe, and her many fur babies.
She is survived by her children, Daniel (Toni) Brown, Scott (Michelle) Brown, Kristopher Driffill, Dan (Tanya) Forrest, and nephew Jonathan Thorpe; her sisters, Lauren Driffill, Terri Thorpe and sister-in-law, Deborah Thorpe; her grandchildren, Sydnie, Madison, Karleigh, Olivia and Greyson; many special Nieces and Nephews, Kimberlee (Doug) Gardner, Stephanie (Michael) Rourke and children Lucas and Molly, Robert (Shawna) Unger and children, Courtney, Patrick and Brady. Brandy Thorpe and son Tyler, Daniel (Jessica) Driffill and son, Jackson, Nicole (Jake) Epp and son, Theodore, Matthew (Miranda) Driffill and Shane Driffill. Her best friend since childhood, Tara Lesco (George), and son Stacy Lesco, as well as many dear friends.
Her legacy of kindness, resilience, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her presence.
Friends may call 12 - 2 Friday, August 18, 2023 at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 2536 Ridgeway Ave. (corner of Long Pond Rd).
