Lynnel (Buchanan) Boone, resident of Glyndon, MN from 1965, died of natural causes August 27, 2024, surrounded by her family.

She was born August 24, 1937, in Morgantown, WV, to Buck and Lucye Nell Buchanan. She attended grade schools in Moscow, ID, Spokane, WA and Forney, TX before moving to Fargo, ND in the third grade. Lynnel graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1955 and attended NDSU from 1955 to 1956 where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. She married Robert R. Boone August 24, 1956, at First Methodist Church, Fargo, ND. Lynnel went back to school at Moorhead State University in Spring 1992, graduating Magna Cum Laude in November 1994. She spent two semesters abroad making lasting memories she shared with her family often.

Lynnel was the clerk of Riverton Township in Clay County, MN for 26 years. She was a 4-H club leader for 19 years and church organist at Glyndon United Church of Christ for 12 years. She also worked for Cargill for 3 years. For many years, she was a parks worker at Buffalo River State Park in Glyndon, MN, retiring in 1995.

Lynnel and Bob enjoyed 26 winters together in Myrtle Beach, SC. Lynnel loved to be surrounded by her family, friends and her music. She hosted many card parties with neighbors, friends and 4-H Christmas parties. She was an avid Bison football fan, holding season tickets from 1962 until 2023. She loved the thought of family so much; she made every aspect of her life different families, loving everyone and accepting all. Lynnel was a world traveler and loved learning about her family heritage, different places, people and virtually anything.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Timothy (Sandra) Boone, Laurie Boone, Rebecca (Kent) Estey, Andrew Boone and Kathryn (James) Nitschke; brother, David (Cindy) Buchanan; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild, and 14 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Arthur Buchanan; her aunt, Virgina Yates, and her nephews, Michael Buchanan and Matthew Buchanan.
