Marvel Berdine Britz, 81, of Harrisonville, Missouri, died on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Crown Care in Harrisonville. Funeral services were held on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the Harrisonville First Baptist Church. Burial in Valor Park Cemetery in Grain Valley, MO. Berdine was born November 17, 1943, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Maxine (Armstrong) and Ralph Loudon. She had one beloved sister, Jeanie Dunn. She married Harold "Sonny" Britz on September 16, 1958, in Kansas City, MO, at his grandparents' home when she was 14 years old. To this union, Thomas Wayne, was born on September 22, 1959.

Sonny and Berdine began their married life in the Kansas City North Area. In 1966, they took in the six children of Berdine's sister to care for. They moved to Urich, MO, in 1967 and the children stayed with them until the fall of 1968. Berdine always carried a special love in her heart for those nieces and nephews. In 1969, Sonny, Berdine, and Tom moved to Harrisonville on a farm north of the current community center. In March 1973, they moved to a farm west of Harrisonville where Berdine lived until she went into care facilities.

Berdine held various jobs in Harrisonville and Martin City, then finished her career at the IRS in Kansas City. Berdine became a grandmother at the age of 35 and enjoyed many years of grandchildren and great grandchildren, who lovingly called her Grammy. Sonny and Berdine enjoyed the outdoors and she cooked many meals of deer and fish. Berdine always had dogs she adored and cared for many exotic pets. She enjoyed traveling with her dear friends she made at the Harrisonville Fine Arts Club after Sonny's death. She loved all creative expressions such as painting and stained-glass art. She always loved reading and has fond memories of running races and riding horses as a young person. Berdine's faith in the Lord and love for Him grew strong in her later years. She was thankful for her salvation, renewed life, and her many blessings. She would often pause in public and private to pray and give thanks.

Berdine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sonny; her sister; and three of her beloved nieces; as well as, many loved ones in the Britz family.
