Pinson, TN: Mary Jane Plunk passed away August 8th at Maplewood Healthcare in Jackson.
She was born in Finger, TN, the daughter of the late Henry Howard Plunk, Sr. and the late Bonnie Lee Wright Plunk. She grew up in Finger and went to school in McNairy County, graduating from high school there.
She worked in Jackson at Proctor and Gamble in the lab as a cake tester for several years. She was a crane operator at AmeriSteel and then as custodial engineer for Southwest TN Electric in Henderson for about ten years, until she retired. She leaves behind her beloved dog and companion, "J.J.". She enjoyed watching television.
She is survived by a son James Bradley Gray and fiancée Sheri Marsh, a sister Allie Mae Henry and husband Dennis of Bethel Springs, and two grandchildren: Olivia Austin Gray and Isaac Bradley Gray.
She was preceded in death by six brothers: M.E., David, Isaac, Buford, Junior, and Dewayne and four sisters: Laverne Watson, Dorothy Redden, Minnie Lee Davis, and Blondell Powers.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 13 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Crook Avenue with burial to follow at Maggie Jones Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 12 noon Wednesday.
