Mabel Margaret Leppler, age 95, of Black Lake, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 31, 2025.

She was born on April 8, 1930, in Marlette, Michigan, the daughter of John and Lena Nelson. On August 18, 1951, she married Edward Leppler - the love of her life, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Utica, where she was a devoted member for many years. Together they shared a wonderful life until his passing in 1988.

Mabel spent 21 years living in Marlette, Michigan, before moving to Utica, and finally to the beloved beaches of Black Lake. She and her family cherished their time at Black Lake, where she spent her final years surrounded by the beauty of nature and those she loved most.

She was employed with Utica Community Schools and retired in 1988. In her free time, Mabel enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and boating on Black Lake. Most of all, she treasured time spent with her family.

Mabel is survived by her children: Carol (Tom) Gagne, Sue (Robin) Roberts, Gordon Leppler, and Thomas Leppler; grandchildren Kim (Tom) Tomrell and Paul Roberts; and great-grandchildren Emma and Allie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lena Nelson; her beloved husband, Edward Leppler; four sisters; and five brothers.

Mabel will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the joy she found in family and simple pleasures. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
