Mabel Peacock Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Martin & Hightower Funeral Home - Carrollton on Jan. 6, 2026.
Mabel "Estelle" Peacock will be fondly remembered following her peaceful passing on January 2, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on April 15, 1939, in Atlanta, Georgia, Estelle was the middle daughter of the late Benjamin Bugg Peacock and Edna Earle Bolt Peacock.
Estelle graduated from Henry Grady High School in 1957. She continued her education pathway with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Emory University. She began her teaching career as an elementary school teacher at Spring Street Elementary in Atlanta. She taught in various locations, which included Germany and Texas, before settling back in Georgia. Later, Estelle pursued another career path at the Trust Company of Georgia Bank until retirement. After retirement, she worked at a few fashion boutiques before she found her passion at Talbot's Clothing Store as a fashion consultant.
She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta. Estelle's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She embraced the values of love, compassion, and kindness. She was our beloved "Stella" and she will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, Estelle is also preceded in death by her cherished sister, Edna Peacock Gray.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her sister and brother-in-law, Cornelia and Wilbur Blackman, as well as nieces and nephews: Lew and Christy Blackman, Elizabeth and Nick Miller, Ben Gray, Jim Gray, and Edna and Jimmy Farrar, and also great-nieces and great-nephews.
The service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 10:00 AM at The Abbey at Westview Cemetery, located at 1680 Westview Dr., SW, Atlanta, Georgia.
As we prepare to say our goodbyes, let us reflect on the enduring legacy Estelle has left on our hearts. Her warmth, laughter, and unwavering love will continue to resonate within all who were fortunate enough to know her. Though she may be gone from our sight, she will forever remain in our hearts.
