Mable Durham Foster, 95, went to meet the Jesus she knew and loved all her life on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Baptist Reynolds House in Collierville, TN. She was born on July 29th of 1929 in Memphis,
Tennessee.
She went to school at Messick through the 11th grade, then moved to Sardis, MS where she would meet her husband of 65 years, William "Bill" Foster. Her greatest joy was being a mother to her three children, and by serving her Lord through all the church work she did. She was privileged to teach all ages in Sunday school from the youngest classes to the oldest. She also enjoyed her 18 years working at Rack Room Shoes.
When Mrs. Mable moved to Wesley Meadows, she made several new friends and enjoyed playing cards with them. She also taught her oldest great grandchildren to play the card game, "Phase 10", which they all enjoyed together.
Her children have always been the biggest blessing to her, especially since her husband passed. Tina would call her every night, Jimmy took care of her business affairs, Pam administered her medicine and would take care of her regardless of any health issues, and Darrell would handle any repairs she may have needed while her health would not allow her to do so. She had a village that she raised to which would raise another great village to care for and love her through these many years of life that she was given here on this earth. She will be missed by all those who loved and cherished her deeply.
Those left behind to continue her legacy of kindness and love include her children, Robert (Bert) Foster, Tina Fly (Jimmy), and Pam Marsh (Darrell); her grandchildren, Brennan Fly across (Jeremy), Mandy Fly Stevens (Trey), Ryan Fly (Ashley), Bradley Fly (Christine), Nicole Marsh Wright, and Brynden Foster;18 great grandchildren; 3 great- great grandchildren; and a host of many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Foster; grandson, Christopher Marsh; her parents, Llewellen and Bernice Durham; and a sister; Mona Lee Finnell.
A very special thank you to Jimmy Fly for caring for our mom like she was his own. You will never know how much that means to us as a family.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Hernando Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The service to celebrate her life will immediately follow starting at 1:00 p.m. Interment will conclude the service at the church at Hernando Memorial Park.
