Mac McGee Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Almon Funeral Home and Chapel - Carrollton on Jul. 12, 2025.
Mr. Albert Franklin "Mac" McGee Jr., 67, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on his birthday, July 11, 2025.

He was born on July 11, 1958, in Plainfield, New Jersey, to the late Albert Franklin McGee Sr. and Marie Austin McGee.

Albert was an auto mechanic who spent his life doing what he loved-working on cars. Over the years, he worked in numerous places across Carroll County, including Freeman Auto. A man of the Christian faith, Albert was known not only for his skill under the hood but also for his big heart, kind spirit, and passion for speed. He was a devoted drag racing and motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed his time as a race car driver. Whether he was tuning an engine or turning a wrench, Albert found joy in the mechanics and motion of life.

He is survived by his loving children: daughter Holly McGee Lane and her husband Brian, and son Jonathan McGee and his wife Ashley. He also leaves behind the mother of his children, Gail McGee. Albert was a proud grandfather to Landon and Logan Lane.

He is also survived by his brothers: Robert McGee and his wife Vivian, John McGee and his wife Jane Evans, and Richard McGee. Additionally, he is remembered by two nieces and one nephew.

In keeping with his wishes, no services are planned.

Albert will be remembered for his generous heart, strong work ethic, and the roar of engines that marked a life well-lived.
