Macauley Rooney Kenia, 22, of Falls passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025, at home.
Born on July 2, 2003, in Scranton, he is the son of Michael and Colleen (Rooney) Kenia.
He was a 2021 graduate of Tunkhannock High School. He took shop classes during his time in high school, discovering a love for woodworking. He was a member of the varsity lacrosse team, where he displayed remarkable athleticism and dedication. In addition to his commitment to lacrosse, Macauley also pursued his love for dance, often leaving lacrosse practice to attend dance classes.
Macauley recently obtained his Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and had dedicated the last two years to pursuing an apprenticeship in line work, as he searched for his true passion. He was an exceptionally hard worker and will always be remembered for his unwavering dedication and strong work ethic.
He was known for his immense love for the outdoors. He delighted in fishing, hunting, snowboarding, golfing, and riding his dirt bike, reveling in the thrill of adventure. He loved all animals and most especially dogs.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by sister, Regan Kenia; grandparents, Donald and Mary-Lou Rooney of Patchogue, NY, Robert Kenia and the late Susan Kenia; beloved neighbors and honorary grandparents, Robert and Vicki Brown; aunts and uncles, Kerry and Laura Rooney, Keith Rooney, Daniel and Patti Rooney, Shawn Rooney, Casey and Rita Rooney, Patrick and Pamela Rooney, Susan and Jack Kelly, Michael and Irina Rooney, Bobby Kenia; 20 first cousins.
He is preceded in death by his aunt, Lisa Rooney.
Family and friends are invited to attend Macauley's funeral services which will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 4:00 PM from the Marcho, Sheldon, and Kukuchka Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657 with Deacon Ray Pieretti presiding.
A viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until the time of service on Saturday.
