Maciva Chancy, 79, of Shelbyville passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Franciscan Hospice House.
Born on November 10, 1945. in Seymour, she was the daughter of Clarence Emerson McDonald and Iris Pauline (Banks) McDonald. She married Norman Dale Chancy on March 23, 1974 and he preceded her in death on June 6, 2017.
Survivors include 2 children- Kristy DeHart Hamner of Columbus, Brad Chancy of Shelbyville; 5 grandchildren- Brittney (Alisha) Wright-Hamner of Columbus, Ashlie (Dustin) Michael of Columbus, Taylor Harper of Columbus, Cameron Chancy of Morristown, Lauren Chancy of Morristown; and 3 great grandchildren- Zackaryah Wright-Hamner, Lucas Harper, and Henry Michael all of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister Sharon Simmons, and brothers Gary B. and William Joseph McDonald.
Maciva had lived in this area for 55 years after previously moving from Seymour. She worked for KCL Corp for several years. Maciva enjoyed QVC tv, collecting antiques, but most of all loved spending time with her family.
Graveside services will be 1:00pm, Monday, October 6, 2025 at Bennett Cemetery, Shelby County with Pastor Dennis Allman officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made to American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
