Mackenzie Greer Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts, the family of Mackenzie Kaitlin Greer must announce her unthinkable passing at age 26. She and her brother, Remi Gavin Greer, unexpectedly and tragically passed together on September 3rd, 2025.

To those that knew her, Mackenzie was a beacon of light and love. She carried a ray of sun everywhere she went. She was a young woman who believed that there was some good in everyone. Her absence will be greatly missed by each person that had the privilege to know her.

Mackenzie was a talented artist, writer, and crafter. She spent her childhood with her brother and cousins, always creating some new game for them or doing a craft together. She was a gifted artist, creating anything and everything she could think of. Her specialty became "Kenzie's Kritters" - which was her small business focusing on fantasy yarn dolls. She always had multiple art projects started at any given moment, most of them being gifts or special things for her loved ones. Mackenzie was such a thoughtful gift giver and spent a large portion of her time thinking of others.

She was an avid baker, gamer, gardener, and always was ready for an adventure. Mackenzie also loved animals. When she was little, she wanted to be a veterinarian. She loved her two dogs, Zeke and Moxie. They were her "furry siblings" and they loved her just as much as she loved them.

In 2007, Mackenzie got one of the greatest gifts a person could receive - a sibling. While some days, she might have disagreed, Mackenzie truly did love her brother, Remi. The two of them frequently spent time joking and laughing together. She was always there for him, during great times and all of life's challenges. She was a wonderful older sister. She was so proud of Remi and all he was becoming. She would have done anything to keep him safe.

Mackenzie was predeceased by her two beloved grandmothers, Linda Perkins and Jean Vetter, as well as her uncle Russell D. Greer. Mackenzie is survived by her loving parents, Jodie and Jason Greer, her maternal grandfather, Charles F. Vetter, Uncles and Aunts, Michelle and Leo Trainor and Charles and Amy Vetter, as well as her cousins, Chandler (his fiance, Julia and their daughter, Lillian), Gwendolynn, Riley, Jayson, Amelia, Piper, and Olivia.

Friends are invited to visit with Mackenzie and Remi's family on Friday, September 12th from 4pm to 6pm in the Tasker Funeral Home at 621 Central Ave, Dover, NH 03820.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 13th at 11am in the Tasker Funeral Home at 621 Central Ave, Dover, NH 03820.

The family asks that you honor Mackenzie in whatever way makes sense for you, whether it be baking something sweet for a friend, making a craft or creation, or just spending time with the people you love most. Mackenzie wanted everyone to find simple joys in life, just as she did.

Mere words can't express the complete shock and deepest sorrow I've felt since learning of Mackenzie's (and Remi's) passing. I met Mackenzie at work several years ago, and she was one of two people who trained me for my position as a cashier. After she went to work elsewhere, we still maintained contact. Mackenzie was such a dear, sweet, gentle, pleasant, and talented young lady! She interacted with everyone -- young and old alike -- with such caring and compassion. She was a blessing to all, and it was a privilege to know her and call her a friend. Sincerest condolences to the Greer family, as well as her boyfriend; I'm truly sorry for your loss.

I was one of Mackenzie´s art teachers and I remember her well. She was in my film editing class and created the most wonderful films. She had incredible patience and spent hours editing them. I´m so sorry for your loss.

Since that phone call from Jason, our household has been in a state of emotional and physical shock. She was someone to everyone here. A golden glow of sunshine for me, a fellow crafter for John, a big sister for Caitlyn and the love of his life for Matt. Our hearts and prayers go out to the Greer family and we will always remember Mackenzie and Remind with heartfelt remembrance.
