Madelaine Adams, of Biddeford, passed away recently. She was born on March 10, 1939, in Biddeford to Ernest St. Ours and Alice (Morin) St. Ours. She attended Biddeford schools and worked in various roles throughout her life, including as a supervisor at NIKE Shoe, as well as a chambermaid, clerk, host, and kitchen staff member at Evergreen Manor.
Madelaine was a participant in the Western Maine Bowling Proprietors Association and was an avid BINGO player. She also enjoyed playing SCAT with her sisters. In her younger years, she was a championship bowler. Above all, she especially loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was known for her joyful personality and the love she brought to those around her.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Richard Adams; her brother, Norman St. Ours; her daughter, Christina; and her son-in-law. She is survived by her son, Richard Adams Jr., and his husband George of Florida; her sister, Priscille Hatch and husband Jerry of Lewiston; her brother, Richard St. Ours of Virginia; her sisters Doris Poirier of Florida, Paulette Cote of Biddeford, Pauline Poirier and husband Ron of Florida, Anita Lizotte and husband Doug of Biddeford, and Diane Alden and husband Mark of New Hampshire; her grandchildren: Anne Perkins, Stacy Perkins, David Perkins, Amy Perkins, and Miranda Perkins, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Diabetes Association.
The family would like to thank the staff at Southridge for the loving care they gave Madelaine.
