Madeleine Carroll Hunt, was born on August 25th, 1941 to David and Lula Marie Hunt in
San Saba, Texas. Madeleine was the middle child, having an older brother, David Glen Hunt, and a younger brother, Melvin Lee Hunt. Madeleine had 3 children, Jimmy McKinney, Kay Snider, Jennifer Lambert, and one that she chose as her own, through love, Dona Watson. She worked at Eventide Nursing Home for 26 years as a Dietary Manager. There, her co workers, employees, and residents alike, became her extended family. She loved her job! She always said that, if you love your job like she did, you never have to work a day in your life! She was passionate about giving the elderly the very best, and ensuring that every meal was home cooked, to their individual liking, and went above and beyond to add to their quality of life, in any way possible! She made it her mission, and on a daily basis! Her passion for loving people was contagious and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her could testify to that fact. Her kindness, integrity, and work ethic precede her. On July the 18th, 1988, Madeleine married the LOVE of her LIFE, and SOULMATE, Travis Reynolds, thus becoming, Madeleine Carroll Reynolds. Married for 21 years, together they happily resided in their home at China Creek until his passing in 2009. With him, she came to love his children as her own, Wayne Reynolds, Jim Reynolds, and Susie Giles. Madeleine had a way of making everyone around her, strangers alike, comfortable. Anyone that was fortunate enough to call her, "friend," was truly blessed. Her positivity, warmth, gentleness, comforting presence, generosity, compassion, and humor will be impossible to forget. To say that she was well rounded is an understatement! Central Baptist Church was Madeleine's church home. Pastor Welton Watson and his preaching of and passion for God's word, was an anchor of which she held onto with everything she had, through every season. She considered this church, and everyone in it, home, and family! Madeleine's love for the Lord was very evident, as she spoke of and to him on a daily basis. If you were to ask her what the single most important thing that she did in her lifetime was, she would most assuredly tell you that it was accepting Jesus as her personal savior! For those of us that know and love Madeleine, we can be confident of the fact that this is not goodbye, but, see you later, as she has graduated into the Kingdom of Heavenlies, and is seated next to her lord and savior. Although, the loss of her will be greatly felt until the day we are reunited, rather than mourn, as she asked, we choose to CELEBRATE the fact that she has left this carnal world, after all the years of physical suffering, and finally, she is no longer in pain. She has received her perfect, new body! HALLELUIA! Thankfully, we that are left behind have a treasure trove of stories of love and laughter, to keep her alive in our hearts. What a special person she was!
Madeleine leaves behind one son, Jimmy Mckinney from Lubbock, one daughter Kay Snider from San Saba, and her youngest daughter, Jennifer Lambert, and husband, Matthew Lambert, also from San Saba.
