Mae Zeringue Griffin, 91, a resident of Gonzales, LA. passed away peacefully on July 11, 2024 at Old Jefferson Community Care Center. She is survived by her children Randall Griffin (Wendy), Raymond Griffin, and Rebecca Gore (Doug). In addition to grandchildren, Tiffani Knight (Jacob), Kami Rainey (Evan), Sarrah Gore, John Gore, Taylor Griffin, Simon Griffin, and great-grandchild, Chloe Knight. Also survived by siblings Robert C. Zeringue Jr. (Mary), numerous nieces, nephews, and lifelong friend Julianna H. Lee.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Saint Amant, LA from 10:30 until 12:30, with Mass beginning at 12:30. Burial of ashes at a later date.
She is preceded in death by her husband Simon P. Griffin; parents, Robert Zeringue Sr. and Eleanor Zeringue; granddaughter Brittni A. Griffin; brothers, Lee (Thelma) and Clarence (Rosalie) Zeringue; and sister, Audrey Zeringue (Norman).
She was a Quality Controller for Zapp's Potato Chips. She loved to sew and dance. She enjoyed traveling with her family on road trips around America and spending time with her grandchildren. One of her favorite past times was sharing stories on her porch swing.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Old Jefferson Community Care Center. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer a moment of prayer.
