Mahlon D Gingerich, age 96, a resident of Spooner, WI, passed away peacefully at home on August 15, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Mahlon was born July 3,1929, in Indiana to David and Rose Gingerich. On October 29, 1950, he married Laura Ellen Miller. They lived in Indiana until 1968, when they bought a farm and moved to Wisconsin.

Mahlon farmed all his life. He did some carpentry work on the side. When he retired from farming, he did volunteer work for Mennonite Disaster Service. He traveled all over the States using his carpentry skills to repair many houses destroyed by natural disasters such as floods and tornados. He also helped his children with many of their remodeling projects. In his later years he filled his time with reading his Bible. He read through the entire Bible many times, wearing out the cover of his Bible. He faithfully prayed for his children and grandchildren. When he couldn't sleep at night, we could hear him praying for each family member by name. He was a member of the Exeland Mennonite Church.

He is survived by his wife Laura, and his children: Roseann (Ken) Schrock of Moorcroft, WY; Ronald (Wanda) Gingerich of Topeka, IN; Sandra (Norman) Swantz of Kalona, IA; Donna (Lloyd) Sensenig of Spooner, WI; John (Christina) Gingerich of Spooner, WI; Daniel (Marsha) Gingerich of Middlebury, IN; Regina (Jim) Hershey of Sparta, WI; 28 grandchildren, 85 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Spooner Funeral Home from 4:00- 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on August 20, 2025, at Northwoods Mennonite Church, 14547 Cty Hwy K, Hayward, WI, with visitation at the Church from 10-11AM. Jim Kauffman and Alvin Stoll will officiate the Funeral. Pallbearers will be Mahlon's 12 grandsons. Burial will be at 2 PM, at the Anah Cemetery, County Road A, Spooner, WI.
