Maila Kuhn, 86, of Tomah, died on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born to Peter and Hilda (Hallik) Kull on March 10,1939, in Estonia in Northern Europe. In 1949, when she was 9, Maila and her family immigrated to Buffalo, New York. She attended the University of Buffalo where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in English and later received her master's degree in Family Counseling from UW – La Crosse. Maila was united in marriage to the love of her life, Kenneth Kuhn, on September 9, 1961, in Buffalo, and together they welcomed their two daughters, Liisa in 1962, and Hilja in 1965. They lived in many different places before settling in home in the Town of LaGrange in December of 1980. She was a member of the Monroe County Economic Development and Tourism Committee, a faithful member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church numerous ladies groups, including a prayer shawl group. She was a master bridge player and was known to carry Ken in a game. She was very much an artist and that could be seen with how she beautified and decorated her home, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting and she shared her crafts with her grandchildren. Maila had a green thumb and had beautiful gardens. She was bright, intelligent, and accepting of everyone and was unconditionally positive. She will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her.

relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law Joan Kuhn.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, 12:00 Noon at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 310 W Elizabeth St. Tomah. Pastor Kaye Knight will officiate. Burial will be in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1411 Delaware Ave. Buffalo, NY.
