Robert Malcolm McGregor, 65, of Moorhead, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024, at his home with his loving family and favorite preacher at his bedside.
Malcolm was born May 4, 1959, in Greenville, to Dorothy Wills McGregor and Clarence Allen McGregor. He was raised in Inverness and graduated from Indianola Academy. Malcolm then attended Mississippi Delta Community College. His heart was always in farming the land and his garden where he raised "prized tomatoes". He had a passion for hunting and fishing and enjoyed cooking and grilling. Malcolm had two K9 companions that he loved: his Airedale Terrier, Wilson, and his Golden Retriever, Chester, who shared so much love with him until their passing. There are lots of stories that could be told by his friends, like surviving the African Lion encounter. All of his friends jokingly referred to Malcolm as Minibike. He had a great sense of humor and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Malcolm was preceded in death by his parents, Raz and Dorothy McGregor.
He is survived by four sisters, Janet Lois McGregor of Whidbey Island, Washington, Marilyn Wills McGregor of Madison, Kathy McGregor Beck of Grenada, and Holly McGregor Fluharty of Everett, Washington.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Inverness Methodist Church. The memorial service will begin at 3:00 pm with Rev. Linda Malone officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Inverness. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Inverness Methodist Church, PO Box 2, Inverness, MS 38753.
