Malcolm "Mac" Rogers, Jr, passed away on April 10, 2023.
He was born September 8, 1932 in Hannibal, MO, to Malcolm and Ellen Rogers.
He is preceded in death by his parents Malcolm and Ellen, a son William and a sister Carolyn Whitaker.
He is survived by a son Mark and grandsons Michael, Matthew and Christopher all of Dallas: a daughter Anne Shoemaker, son-in- law Paul and granddaughters Elizabeth and Rebecca Pratt, Faith Shoemaker great grandson Carter and grandson Machaon Shoemaker Carlsbad, NM: sister Nancy of Springfield, IL: brother John of Chicago, IL
Graduating from Pleasant Hill, Illinois high school, he attended two years at Western Illinois University before enlisting in the US Army during the Korean conflict. Later, he graduated from Western with a degree in Agriculture and Business.
After managing counties for the Illinois Farm Bureau, he relocated to Tucson, Arizona and began a career in commercial banking and stock brokerage. He became manager for Shearson Lehman Bros in Tucson, promoted to manager of the firm's San Francisco retail sales and subsequently named to Senior Executive Management at New York City headquarters. Merger activities relocated him to Seattle for management and consulting activities and retirement preceding a move to Dallas.
He was very active in community charities and organizations and recognized for local, state and accomplishments and service by the US Junior Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church and the Zig Ziglar Business Devotionals.
Mac had a wonderful and long successful life filled with lots of travel and adventures. He was a great father, brother, friend, but he is most proud of his acceptance of Jesus Christ as his lord and savior. He had a great sense of fellowship with others and will be missed by everyone! Everybody has a "Mac" story!
Memorial Services will be held May 19, 2023 @ 10:00 am at Faith Chapel, Prestonwood Baptist Church, 6801 W. Park Blvd, Plano, Texas 75093.
