It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Malcolm Olin Settoon, who left this world on June 4, 2025, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the age of 72.

Born in New Orleans on March 5, 1953, Malcolm was the beloved son of the late Mary Leona Anderson Settoon and Durno Olin Settoon. A 1972 graduate of Broadmoor High School, Malcolm made his life in Louisiana, where he built a legacy of quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and deep love for his family.

Malcolm is survived by his sons, Christopher Ryan Settoon and Michael Barrett Settoon, and by Michael’s wife, Cheri Settoon. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Lincoln and Margaret Settoon, who brought light and laughter to his life.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his cherished sisters, Florence Elaine Settoon and Ann Settoon Abernethy.

Malcolm was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church, where he found community, comfort, and connection through faith.

He will be remembered not only for the love he gave his family, but also for his kind heart, his calm presence, and his sense of humor. His memory lives on in the stories shared, the lessons passed down, and the deep bonds of family he helped to shape.

A private memorial will be held at a later date. The family appreciates your thoughts, prayers, and kind messages during this time.
