Malcolm Wheatley Jr.

Malcolm Wheatley, Jr., age 82 of Waverly, Ky passed away Thursday, April 10, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born February 10th, 1943 in Henderson, KY to Malcolm Sr. and Eleanor Rapier. Malcolm was a graduate of St. Vincent Academy, Class of 1960. He attended Brescia University of Owensboro graduating with a biology degree in 1964. Malcolm was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and lifelong farmer and businessman of the community. He owned Wheatley Products feed store prior to opening The Feed Mill Restaurant in 1997 with his wife, Leslie. Malcolm also had a hand in opening up Cajun restaurants in Louisville, KY and Newburgh, IN.
Malcolm enjoyed traveling to Florida, especially Key West, with Leslie. He loved his long rides to Shawneetown, getting lost in the river bottoms and checking on the farms any given day. Most recently, you would find him at The Feed Mill Restaurant entertaining regulars as a fixture at table 71.
Malcolm was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 54 years Leslie Ann (2019); sister Janice Alley.

Visitation will be from 10 AM to 12 PM Monday, April 14th at Whitsell Funeral Home followed by funeral service at St. Peter's Church in Waverly, KY at 1 PM. Father David Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery in Waverly, KY. Memorial contributions can be made to John Paul II Catholic School. Malcolm was able to spend his last few years at home thanks in part to the help of his special caretakers, which treated him and us like family. Teresa Wolfe, Becky Holt, Joan Graham, Rhonda Jordan, and Linda Blakeley will forever have our thanks and appreciation for helping make dads last few years not only peaceful but enjoyable. There truly are angels among us.
