In Loving Memory
Mamie Francis Webb passed away at her residence in Tuscola, Texas on October 18, 2025, with family members by her side, in accordance with her wishes. She departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and inspiration to all who knew her.
Mamie was born to the late A.B. and Edna Foster December 7, 1939, in Eastland, Texas. She attended Cross Plains school with the class of 1958 until she married the love of her life, George Webb, Jr. October 30, 1956, and moved to Dallas where he attended high school and sold real estate.
Mamie was excited to join in the family business, however it wasn’t until after the raising of her children, ensuring they made their extracurricular activities, that she began her career. Much more than a wonderful homemaker, she was an organizer, an intuitive businesswoman, and a top selling real estate agent. She and George built homes, bought, sold, and invested in real estate in Dallas, Lake Brownwood, Midland, and Albuquerque, NM to name a few. Mamie was the woman who could get the kids ready and be on a plane to Vegas in 30 minutes and be ready to entertain clients on landing. Her kindness, along with a natural intuition about people, made her a favorite in the business world. Although she and George retired many times, they never truly stayed retired due to both of their love of the various aspects of real estate,
She enjoyed travel, musicals, fishing, shopping, game nights, school plays, football, baseball and golf, and relaxing at home with loved ones. As a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mamie was the cornerstone of her family. She created a home filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Mamie was known for her unwavering compassion, her dedication to family and friends, and her generous spirit. Throughout her life, she touched the hearts of everyone she met.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, George Walker Webb, Jr; her son George Walker “Butch” Webb, III; grandson Cole Michael Worley; infant great-granddaughter Delaney Frances Womack; sisters Ileen Smith and Jesse Raben; and brother Bevelyn “Bugs” Foster.
Survived by daughters Tammy (Rick) Worley and Teri (Carl) McQueen; sisters Martha Leveritt and Vicki Cobb; grandchildren Jesse (Becca) Worley, Kimber Womack (Scott Heuman), Jeff (Lucy) Henson, and TJ (Shanda) Griffon; great-grandchildren Raylee Henson (August Casselberry), Kaleb, Jacob, and Colton Heuman, Hudson Henson, and Stone Griffon; and her great-great-granddaughter, Emyrson Lee Henson-Casselberry, whose arrival is joyfully anticipated on November 30th. Mamie also leaves behind her beloved fur babies — Cowboy, JJ, and Belle — who brought her joy, comfort and companionship.
A celebration of Mamie’s life will be held at Higginbotham Funeral home in Cross Plains, on Saturday, the 25th, at 11am, followed by lunch at Jean’s Feedbarn, also in Cross Plains. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to your local animal rescue or charity near to your heart, in honor of Mamie’s generous spirit.
The family sincerely thanks Raylee Henson, Christine Loven, Noe Silva, Interim Health, in particular Lou, Sonny and Michelle, and the many others that showed her love and dignity in caring for her.
Mamie will be greatly missed but her spirit will remain in the hearts of all who love her. May she rest in peace.
