Manuel Joseph Brito Jr., lovingly known as "Manny," passed away unexpectedly on December 1, 2025. He was 64 years old. Raised in Barnstable, MA, Manny was a true pillar of his community, a familiar face whose warmth, humor, and generosity touched everyone who crossed his path.
Manny was the proud owner and heart of Brito's Auto Body Shop on Yarmouth Road, a local staple he operated for more than 40 years. To countless customers and friends, he offered far more than expert car repair; he offered a smile, a story, and the kind of kindness that made everyone feel like family. If you knew Manny, you knew his deep generosity and heart.
He grew up on Cape Cod and became something of a hometown "mayor," known and loved everywhere he went. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and the simple joy of being with his family. He cherished being a grandfather. He never missed Jeremy Jr.'s dirt bike races and loved spoiling his "princess," Jaylani. His grandchildren were his heart, and he held so many dreams for their future. There was nothing he wouldn't do for his family, and we will forever carry his love and continue to make him proud.
Manny is survived by his children, Jeremy Brito (Shacara) and Peyton Brito (DeVonte); his beloved grandchildren, Jeremy Brito Jr. and Jaylani Brito. He is also survived by his siblings: Leona Brito-Queen, Dorothy Brito, Linda Pipkin, Paula Salt, Ronald Kenworthy, Christine Brito, and Steven Brito. Manny leaves behind his significant other, Christine Garrity, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Brito Sr. and Bella Kenworthy; and his sisters Mary Jean Dias and Doreen Paschal.
Manny's passing leaves a deep void in the many lives he touched, and his family takes comfort in knowing his warmth, generosity, and spirit will live on in the memories of all who loved him.
