Manuel Rey Hernandez, a beacon of love and devotion, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on June 22, 1936, in Tierra Nuevas, Chihuahua, Mexico, Manuel's life was a testament to his unwavering spirit and the joy he found in simple pleasures. His journey came to a peaceful close in Odessa, Texas, surrounded by the warmth of his loving family.

Manuel's story began as the beloved son of Cecilio and Roberta (Rey) Hernandez. His life was further blessed with the companionship and love of his wife, Maria de Jesus Ramirez Hernandez, who preceded him in death. Together, they built a legacy of love and a large family, a legacy that will continue through his brother Agustin Hernandez, his children Maria Arcilia (Albino Aranda), Juan De Dios (Johnny), Sabina (Martin Dominguez), Argelia Garza, Cecilia Alvarado, Manuela Levario, Elsa (Cruz Mendoza), Bertha (Arturo Chavez), Frank Hernandez (Elsa), and Jesse Hernandez, as well as 33 grandchildren, 93 great-grandchildren, 30 great-great-grandchildren, and many friends and family members whom Manuel considered part of his extended family.

Radiant with his love for life, Manuel enjoyed dancing and playing bingo, a pastime that filled his heart with joy. He cultivated a garden of affection not only through his dancing but also through his love for his family. His days were always brightened by the presence of his loved ones, with whom he shared not only his time but also his favorite treats, sweets, and his favorite drink, green pisto.

As a patriarch, Manuel was the embodiment of kindness and the quintessential caregiver, whose legacy is now lovingly intertwined in his family's history. Each of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren carries a piece of his heart and spirit. His guidance was gentle, his affection unwavering, and his dedication to his family constant. It is these qualities that will remain in their hearts and continue to guide them. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Manuel Rey Hernandez's legacy is one of enduring love that will continue to flourish in the hearts and lives of his family and all those who were graced by his presence. With his passing, the world has lost a precious soul, but heaven has gained a luminous spirit, and his memory will forever remain etched in the lives he touched.

Mr. Manuel Hernandez was preceded in death by his father Cecilio Ramirez Hernandez, his mother Roberta Rey Hernandez, sisters Carmen Mendoza, Maria Aguirre, Eloisa Rios, and Lilia Martinez, brother Eusebio Hernandez, wife Maria de Jesus Hernandez, sons Juan de Dios Hernandez and Jesse Hernandez, grandsons Joshua Mendoza and David Levario, and great-grandson Abelardo Davila.

Nacidael 22 de Junio de 1936 en Tierra Nuevas Chihuahua, México, la vida de Manuel fue un testimonio de su espíritu inquebrantable y de la alegría que encontraba en los placeres sencillos. Su viaje llegó a un cierre apacible en Odessa, Texas, rodeada del calor de su amorosa familia.

La historia de Manuel comenzó como el querido hijo de Cecilia y Roberta (Rey) Hernandez. Su vida se vio aún más bendecido con la compañía y el amor de su esposa. Maria de Jesus Ramirez Hernandez, quien la precedió en la muerte. Radiante por su amor a la vida, Manuel disfrutaba del placer de Bailar, y jugar Bingo un pasatiempo que llenaba su corazon Cultivaba un jardín de afecto no solo a través de su baile , sino también por su amor a su Famila Sus días siempre se iluminaban con la presencia de sus seres queridos, con quienes compartía no solo su tiempo, sino también sus golosinas favoritas, dulces y su bebida favorita el pisto verde.

Como Patriarco Manuel era la encarnación de la bondad y el cuidador por excelencia, cuya legado ahora está entrelazado con amor en la historia de su familia. Cada uno de sus hijos y nietos y bisnietos y tataranietos lleva consigo un pedazo de su corazón y su espíritu. Su guía era gentil, su afecto inquebrantable y su dedicación a su familia constante. Son estas cualidades las que permanecerán en sus corazones y seguirán guiándolos.

Será profundamente extrañada por todos los que tuvieron el placer de conocerlo.
