Manuel Salmon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cargain Funeral Homes Inc. - Mahopac on Dec. 30, 2025.
Manuel Salmon, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and proud U.S. Marine veteran, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, in Carmel, NY, at the age of 89. Born on June 3, 1936, in Brooklyn, NY, Manuel's life was a testament to his intelligence, thoughtfulness, and unwavering commitment to his family and community
Manuel's early life in Brooklyn laid a strong foundation for his future achievements. He pursued higher education with determination, earning a Bachelor's degree that would lead him to a successful career as an accountant for PepsiCo, Inc. in Somers, NY. His professional life was marked by the same integrity and dedication he applied to all his endeavors.
A devoted husband to Kathie Lentini-Salmon (Griffin), Manuel's love for his family was the center of everything he did. His legacy lives on through his children, Lisa Marie, Alisande, Armand (Cynthia), Tracy, and Thomas (Danielle), as well as his adored grandchildren, Katrina, Alec, Samsara, Immanuel, Lorenzo, Justin, Gabriel, Angelica, Sadi, Justina, Alyssa, Jonathan and Jayden and treasured great-grandchildren, Miona and Juni. Manuel was the last surviving sibling of Charlie and Norma, both of whom predeceased him, leaving a legacy of family unity and love.
Manuel's life was one of service and contribution. As a proud U.S. Marine veteran, he embodied the Corps' values of honor, courage, and commitment. His patriotism was evident in his quiet but meaningful gesture of replacing tattered flags around town, ensuring that the symbol of the nation he served was always displayed with respect.
His interests were as diverse as they were passionate. Manuel was an avid history buff and traveler, always eager to explore and understand the world around him. He found joy in writing and photography, capturing moments and memories with a keen eye and a steady hand. His presence was well known at Gold's Gym, where he not only maintained his physical strength but also built lasting friendships. One lasting friendship was his Marine buddy, John Rock, who he did everything with.
Manuel's intelligence shone through in his thoughtful conversations and his ability to listen and offer wisdom. He epitomized the quote by Albert Einstein, "The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination".
As we remember Manuel Salmon, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and love. His impact on those around him was profound and his memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Manuel's story is one of a life well lived, marked by the values he held dear and the love he shared freely. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
The family would like to thank the EMS & Fire Department, Dr. Stark and the team at Putnam Hospital Center.
