Manuel Souto

Manuel Souto passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 11, 2025. He was 79 years old and was born in Praia do Norte, Faial, Açores. He had lived in the Turlock area for 44 years prior to his wife's passing. Manuel is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Nellie and Al McCarty; siblings, Flaminio (Lucia) Souto, Joe (Lina) Souto, Raul (Eva) Souto, Gabriella (Antero) Ascenso; nieces, nephews, cousins, and godchildren all over the United States and Portugal. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Maria Alvarina Souto; parents, siblings, nieces and nephews. He worked at Emanuel Hospital for many years doing floor care before he retired. He was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Turlock and enjoyed being an usher when asked. Visitation will take place on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Turlock Funeral Home from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The rosary and the funeral mass will follow, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Turlock. Following the service, Manuel will be laid to rest at Turlock Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Sacred Heart Church for masses for the repose of his soul (1301 Cooper Avenue, Turlock, CA 95380) or to the United Samaritan's Foundation (220 S. Broadway, Turlock, CA 95380) in his honor.
