In loving memory of Manuel R. Valdez Jr., a beloved husband, father, son, and cherished member of the community. Manuel was born on September 1, 1943, in Carrizo Springs, Texas, to his parents Manuel Sr. and Juanita Valdez. He passed away peacefully on March 4, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Valdez proudly served in the United States Army, dedicating himself to his country with honor and courage. His commitment to service extended beyond his military years as he devoted himself to his family and friends throughout his life.
Manuel is preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Guzman Valdez; his sons Eric and William Valdez. He is survived by his son Daniel Valdez (Daneen); daughter Deborah Perez (Ramon); daughter Jennifer R. Valdez; brother Mario Valdez; sister Sandra Peña; grandchildren Deserrae De Leon, Destenie Valdez, Lacie McElroy, Michael J. Valles, Jordan C. Valles, Klaudia C. Leija, Amethyst J. Valles, Ariana J. Arizola, Camryn S. Armendariz, Andrew K. Arizola; and 32 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way.
During this time of mourning and reflection, let us remember Manuel for his kind heart, unwavering dedication to his loved ones, and the countless lives he touched with his warmth and generosity.
Services to celebrate the life of Manuel R. Valdez Jr. will be held at the Church of Acts in San Antonio on March 11, 2024. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by other events at 12:00 PM. The final Graveside Service will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Devine, Texas at 2:00 PM.
Manuel will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the love he shared and the legacy of kindness he leaves behind. May he rest in eternal peace knowing he was cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
