Manuela Tugman Obituary
Manuela G. Tugman passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Monday, March 4, 2024 at the age of 87. She was born on July 22, 1936 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to the late Nabor and Maria (Paramo) Guzman.
Manuela will be forever cherished by her husband, John; their children, Lisa (Trent) Grocock, Tanya (Bill) Porterfield, and Matthew (Danette) Tugman; grandchildren: Lauren, Justin, Samantha, Lilly, Peyton, Madison, Matthew, Hannah, Tanner, Brandon and Chris; great-grandchildren, Everleigh and Addison; brothers, Raymond (Liz) Guzman and Frank Guzman; sister, Liz (Steve) McCarthy; and her huge extended family. Manuela was preceded in death by siblings: Joe, Stanley, Jake and Helen.
Of all the names she was called through her lifetime: "Hon", Mom, Manuela, Nell, Tia, and Nana, it was the last 28 years as "Nana" that delighted her most.
Upon retiring from bookkeeping, she was called to serve the church, starting off in religious education, and not ending until the last few weeks of her life in general administrative duties in the main parish office.
Visitation for Manuela will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. with a brief vigil service at 5 p.m. at the McGann Hay, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23, entrance off Cherry Rd.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 N. Fir Rd, Granger at 1 p.m. with visitation beginning at noon. A luncheon for all will be held in the St. Pius X Parish Life Center after Mass. You may also view the Mass at http://youtube.com/@stpiusgranger
The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation in her honor be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church, http://stpius.net, or The Center for Hospice Care, http://cfhcare.org, or a charity of choice.
