Marcel Anthony Chauvin

Marcel Anthony Chauvin, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. A native of New Orleans and a resident of Marrero, Louisiana, he was born on September 10, 1959, to the late Vivian Marie Templet Chauvin and Theron Charles Chauvin, Sr. He was the loving husband of Marissa Short Chauvin and the devoted father of Dylan Anthony Chauvin (Jasmine). He was the proud grandfather of Kayden and Alayah Chauvin. He is survived by his siblings, Iris C. Vance (Johnny), Linda C. Dominick, Vera C. Falgout (Reese), Elvia N. Chauvin, and Preston P. Chauvin; his sister-in-law, Barbara Chauvin, eight nieces and four nephews and his dedicated dog, Legend. Marcel was preceded in death by his parents, Theron Charles Chauvin, Sr. and Vivian Marie Templet Chauvin; his brother, Theron Charles Chauvin, Jr., and his granddaughter, Skyler Rose Chauvin. Marcel enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time at his property surrounded by nature. Known for his generous heart, he was always willing to help anyone in need and was loved by all who knew him. Those closest to him remember him as a truly good soul who brought peace and kindness to the people around him. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 11am.
