With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Marcelle "Marcy" Elaine (Neff) Noneman Nix who passed away on November 28, 2024 in Bonham, Texas at the age of 86. She was born on July 20, 1938 to Victor Ralph Neff and Ada DeVere (Long) Neff in Coldwater, Michigan. Known for her charm and love of cats, Marcy was truly one-of-a-kind. Whether she was telling a story, giving advice, or simply making someone's day brighter with her laughter, Marcy always made a memorable impression.
A master of storytelling, Marcy could turn the most ordinary moment into a hilarious adventure. Her favorite stories were recounting tales of her six children she shared with her first husband, John Noneman, married in 1953: John, Thomas, Robert, Timothy, Theresa, and Joseph. She lit up when she spoke about them as they were the pride of her life. She was tickled and delighted this year on her birthday to blow out an actual eighty-six candles on her cake: she had a big personality and loved celebrations.
Beyond the jokes and stories, Marcy had a heart full of kindness and love for the Lord. She was a devout Catholic. She offered empathy and love to her family during tough times. She had a unique perspective on life and loved sharing it.
Anyone who knew Marcy, knew how she loved her late husband Doyle Nix. They married in 1979 and celebrated nearly 30 years together before his death in 2009. They shared many happy years in Texas and Las Vegas, where they created a life of their own design, filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
While her presence may no longer fill a room, the laughter, warmth, and stories she has shared will live on in the hearts of her loved ones. Marcy will be remembered by her children, John Noneman of Greenville, Texas, Thomas Noneman of Leonard, Texas, Robert Noneman and wife, Debbie, of The Colony, Texas, and Theresa Love of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Lachelle Clinton, Jeremy Noneman, Doyle Noneman, Joey Noneman, Kathryn Noneman, Jaime Greer, Laura Herrera, Kimberly Kral, Andrew Noneman, Natalie Reis, Brenna Lara, and Mallory Baker; 24 great-grandchildren; nephew, Chuck Distelrath, as well as other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Nix; sons, Timothy Noneman and Joseph Noneman; parents, Victor and Ada Neff; and siblings, Corrinne, Marilynn, Chet, and Bill.
A graveside service will be held in Leonard, Texas at a later date.
