Marcia Lee Schmutz, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, in Murrieta, California. Born on September 9, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York, Marcia's warmth and joyous spirit touched all those around her throughout her 78 years of life.
Marcie, as she was affectionately known by her friends and family, dedicated over four decades of her life to serving her church community as a devoted secretary. Her commitment to her ministry was unwavering, and her presence became a cornerstone of the church's operations and spirit. Marcie's work was not just a job; it was a testament to her faith-filled life, where she found great purpose and fulfillment. Marcie's involvement in her ministry was not only a reflection of her faith but also of her desire to connect with people and support them in their spiritual journeys.
Her love for travel allowed Marcie to explore the world, creating a tapestry of memories that she cherished deeply. Her travels allowed her to visit all fifty states as well as Australia and Canada. These experiences further broadened her perspective, enriching the wisdom she so generously shared with her loved ones.
A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, Marcie's dedication to her family was profound. She is survived by her children, Alan Schmutz and Karen Swanson; her adored three grandchildren, (Stephen, Brendan, and Amanda), and one great-grandchild (Dexton); and her brother, Ted Salvia, along with her nephews, nieces, and her two sisters-in-law. Marcie's family was the epicenter of her world, and she instilled in them the values of love, kindness, and compassion. Her legacy of love continues to live on through the lives of her family members.
Marcie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hubert Terry Schmutz, who passed away in 2011, and her cherished son, Kenneth Schmutz, who left this world too soon in 1996. Her love for them was boundless, and her memory of their time together remained a source of comfort and strength throughout her life.
Those who knew Marcie will remember her as a loving and friendly soul, whose presence was a source of comfort and joy. Her faith-filled life was an inspiration to many, and her ability to connect with others on a deeply personal level was one of her most remarkable gifts.
As we say goodbye to Marcia Lee Schmutz, we celebrate a life beautifully lived, rich in love and faith. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Marcie's journey on earth may have come to a close, but her impact will be felt for generations to come. We take solace in knowing that her legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of her family, friends, and the countless lives she touched.
