Marcia Gail Thompson Kitchen, 74 of Huntington, WV was escorted by angels to her heavenly home on Monday, February 3, 2025, surrounded by her children at her son, David's home. She was born June 29, 1950, the daughter of the late, Charles Harlan and Kathleen Meade Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her Husband whom she missed dearly, Frederick Eugene "Fred" Kitchen; two sisters, Patricia Thompson Porter and Wilma Thompson Black and her grandson, David Elijah Kitchen. Marcia worked alongside of her husband as the founding pastors of the Barboursville Apostolic Church where she served in various positions such as organist, pianist, singer, church secretary and Sunday school teacher. She and her husband, Fred operated the World Missionary Evangelism Food Pantry for many years helping hundreds of families in need. She dedicated her life to ministry where she also served in the Ladies Auxiliary of the West Virginia District United Pentecostal Church International. She was a graduate of Huntington East High School and worked many years at Guiding Light Religious Bookstore. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Marcia is survived by her two sons, Frederick H. "Fred" Kitchen (Amber) of Milton, WV and David E. Kitchen of Barboursville, WV; her grandchildren, Annalise Grace Kitchen Walker (Nik) of Cleveland, TN and Arabella Dawn Kitchen of Milton, WV, Chesed and Cadence Kitchen of Baton Rouge, LA and Logan and Avery Moser of Baton Rouge, LA; her great-grandson, Elam Kitchen of Baton Rouge, LA; her two sisters, Constance Thompson Cole and Joyce Thompson Dempsey both of Huntington, WV. A special friend whom she loved dearly, Nicole Mathews of Huntington, WV and a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the New Birth Church Barboursville, WV. (The former Barboursville Apostolic Church) with Bishop E.S. Harper, Pastor Chuck Lawrence, Pastor Keith Watters and Evangelist Nik Walker officiating. Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 9, 2025, in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Huntington, WV. Funeral Services will be live streamed on the Henson and Kitchen Mortuary and Cremation Services Website, Facebook, and YouTube pages. The Kitchen family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at New Birth Church (The former Barboursville Apostolic Church) which is located at 6812 Mud River Rd, Barboursville, WV. Henson and Kitchen Mortuary and Cremation Services 6357 E. Pea Ridge Rd. Huntington, WV near Barboursville is caring for the Kitchen family.
