McKee Mortuary Inc.Marco C. Alexzondra, previously known as Mark W. Cassel, passed away peacefully at his home in Galien, Michigan, on Sunday morning, November 30, 2025. Born March 3, 1957, Marco lived a vibrant, creative, and deeply loving life that touched countless people.
Marco was the proud owner of Marco Alexzondra Floral, a business that reflected his extraordinary artistry. His creativity, meticulous attention to detail, and genuine love for his brides and clients set him apart in the floral industry. A celebrated bridal florist, Marco earned numerous awards and was featured in multiple bridal magazines and photo shoots throughout his career. His work was known not just for its beauty, but for the heart he poured into every design.
Those who knew Marco adored him for his sharp wit, contagious sense of humor, and unmistakable sarcasm—traits that made him instantly unforgettable. It was easy to fall in love with Marco, whether you knew him for a moment or a lifetime.
Marco graduated from Manchester High School in North Manchester, Indiana, in 1975. This past year, he joyfully reconnected with many of his classmates during their 50th class reunion, a gathering that meant a great deal to him.
He is survived by his devoted partner, Jeffers Miller, and his mother, Mary Lu Cassel Mikesell of North Manchester. He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings: Kimberly (Gary) Miller of Wabash; Hope (John) Cassel Hernandez-Jeffers of Bloomingdale; Tonya Hernandez of Texas; Maria Cruz Zahran of California; Greg (Debbie) Cassel of North Manchester; Jeff (LaVonne) Cassel of Warsaw; Phil Howard of Mississippi; and Tony (Jenny) Cassel of North Manchester. Marco leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great- and great-great-nieces and nephews, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry W. Cassel, sister, Zoyia Hernandez, sisters-in-law, Lisa Cassel and Missy Howard.
Marco will be remembered for his artistry, his humor, and the warmth he carried into every space he entered. His legacy lives on in the beauty he created and the many hearts he touched. May he rest in peace.
A celebration of Marco’s life will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren, 103 North 3rd Street, Liberty Mills, Indiana. Pastor Kelly Beutler and Pastor Erin Huiras will officiate.
For those who wish to honor the memory of Marco, memorial contributions may be made to McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana 46962, to assist with final expenses.
The family of Marco Alexzondra has entrusted McKee Mortuary with care and final arrangements.
