On December 18, 1938, in San Angelo, Texas, the Milliken family welcomed Marcus V. Milliken into the world. On August 10, 2025, at the age of 86, Marcus was reunited in heaven with his parents, George H. and Agnes Otilia Milliken, and his two brothers, George Jr. and Kenneth.

Marcus's life was one of dedication, adventure, and love. He graduated from San Angelo High School in 1957, where he played many sports and especially excelled in football. He later studied at Texas A&M University for four years and went on to complete his degree at the University of Texas at El Paso in 1969. In between his studies, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1964, including 14 unforgettable months in Korea-a time of his life he often looked back on with stories and pride.

The greatest blessing of Marcus's life came when he met the love of his life, Leticia Correa Nuñez of Juárez, Mexico. Their marriage of 54 years was a beautiful partnership built on faith, love, and laughter. Together, they were blessed with two wonderful children, Cynthia and Eric, and later with the joy of becoming "Granddaddy" to his granddaughters, Samara and Madeleine, who were the light of his life.

Family was the heart of Marcus's world. He loved gathering with relatives, sharing stories from the past, and celebrating milestones together. He also had many passions he enjoyed - being outdoors, sports, painting, a good game of dominoes, and music (especially the classical guitar and country). Even in retirement, he stayed active substitute teaching and refereeing for high school volleyball games and girls' club volleyball tournaments.

Marcus will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and ability to make every person he met feel like a friend. He was the spark of every party, a storyteller at heart, and someone who truly never knew a stranger. His optimism, devotion to his family, pride in his heritage, and the many memories he leaves behind will continue to inspire all who loved him.

We will miss him deeply but take comfort in knowing that he is at peace in heaven and that his spirit lives on in the lives he touched.

A service to honor and celebrate Marcus's life will be held on August 24, 2025, at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville, Texas.
