Margaret T. Benevides

Margaret ("Peggy") T. (Higgins) Benevides, 80, of Warwick, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony Benevides.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Catherine (Canning) Higgins. Peggy spent many years as a homemaker and went on to work with Stop & Shop until her retirement.
She was an avid fan of the casino, where she enjoyed the thrill of games and the company of fellow enthusiasts. Her favorite time spent was socializing and being surrounded by her friends and family. In her quiet moments, Peggy found joy in completing word searches.
Peggy is survived by her loving children, Cheryl Odowd and her husband Rick, Linda Boccanfuso and her husband Dennis, Donna Soares and her husband Bob, Michael Benevides and his wife Robin, and Allen Benevides and his wife Linda; sisters, Mary Field, and Eleanor Coppa; cherished grandchildren, Michael Boccanfuso, Michaela Benevides, Casey Soares, John Soares, Brianna Benevides, Allen Benevides, Anthony Benevides, Adam Monteiro, Justin Monteiro, Jayla Monteiro, Allaire Allen, Ella-Grace Allen, and Matthew Allen; and adored great-grandchildren, Dominic Boccanfuso, Rocco Boccanfuso, Julian Monteiro, and Abram Monteiro. She was the mother of the late Toni Lynn Benevides and the sister of the late Catherine Canning and Joan Regnier.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the Visitation at the Thomas and Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick, on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 from 4:00-7:00pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, meeting at the Funeral Home at 9:00AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Rita's Church, Warwick. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
