Schertz Funeral Home and Crematory - SchertzMargaret Jane Burke, 84, of Schertz, Texas passed away peacefully at home on October 23, 2025. A service will be held at Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery on November 17, 2025, Shelter 5 at 9:45 a.m. The service will be livestreamed.
Margaret grew up in Eagle Bend, Minnesota. She married Dennis Burke in January 1966. She worked as a bank teller and bookkeeper. Her pride and joy were her family. She loved playing, reading and snuggling with her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Her love, patience and guidance will always be remembered.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Burke; her parents, John and Alice Ecklund; and other close family members.
Margaret is survived by her two children, Denise Burke and Audra Mitchell; three grandchildren, Leah Burke, Emma Mitchell, Sabrina Mitchell; one great-grandchild, Avonni; brothers and sisters, Richard Ecklund, Charles Ecklund, Barbara Swenson, Jeanette Fallon.
