Siri Louise Isabelle Koenig of Cibolo, Texas ended her journey in this world at the age of 16 on the night of November 9, 2025.

Her journey began the night of May 25, 2009 in San Antonio, Texas. Her coming was heralded by thunder from the heavens that gave way to a warm peacefulness just before her birth; the calm before the storm. As she grew she developed a sass and spunk that could only be rivaled by her siblings. Siri always went hard, often expending every last drop of her energy just to pass out in the most random places (a trait she got from her daddy and never grew out of). From her mommy, Siri received what we like to call the momma bear trait - she would, without hesitation, ferociously defend her siblings and loved ones to a fault. Siri, like her sisters, loved all creatures great and small (well, except for June Bugs & cockroaches…), and any given day of her life she could be found staring at an owl or squirrel or turning over a rock to see if there were any reptiles in residence. If she wasn’t giggling with friends in her room or at the park, you could find her snuggling her bunny Casper, riding her horse Eddie, or trying to rescue any living creature (and sometimes not living…”Still the Caterpillar” was a long experiment on the life cycle of a bug). She was a fierce advocate for justice. She was a light and a force. If she looked tuned out, or sat quietly, you can be sure she was drinking in any bit of information she could about the people around her. She fought hard and she loved hard.

Siri was attending Steele High School as a Junior, known by her friends and classmates as ‘Iris’ (she loved her given name, but despised that Apple stole it from her). She had plans to become a mental health counselor for kids who were struggling with trauma. She got that from her mama. She held that close to her heart.

She is survived by her parents, Sara Koenig-Langston (and Charlie), Gordon Koenig (and April), her siblings Alia (and David), Gannon, Annika, and Charlotte, grandparents Sheryl and Gary Lashley-Cline, and Linda and Kenneth Koenig, plus too many cousins, aunts, uncles and beyond to list.. In the realms beyond she joins her two little brothers: Logan and Seth. We are confident they are being WELL cared for until we can meet them all again.

Siri’s memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025. There will be an open viewing from 4pm to 7pm at the Schertz Funeral Home - 2217 FM3009, Schertz, TX 78154.
