Margaret Marie (Leatherwood) Ferguson went to be with her Lord on October 8, 2022. She was born in Edna, Texas on March 13, 1926. Margaret met the love of her life, Bill, in Galena Park at Middleton's grocery store where he worked as a butcher after serving in the US Army during WW II. After their wedding in 1947, they made Galena Park their home. Shortly after Bill's death in 2016, they would have celebrated their 69th anniversary.
Margaret lived her life as a wonderful, Christian example, like the woman of noble character in Proverbs 31. She humbly served her family and put others first. Her most notable attribute was that of hospitality. Many, if not all, of those who will celebrate her life have spent time in her home, enjoying her gift of cooking. Preachers, pregnant teenagers, missionaries, single dads and more found blessing in her open invitation. Many 2nd graders sat at her feet in Bible Class. The finest of clothing, upholstery or window treatment was yours if Margaret was at the sewing machine! But don't touch her scissors!
Margaret and Bill served at the Galena Park Church of Christ until moving in 1976 to the Channelview area where they served at the Church of Christ there for another 35 years. In 2011, they moved to Montgomery to live near their daughters for their final years, worshiping at the Conroe Church of Christ.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband William (Bill) Ferguson and her son Bill Ferguson, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Jones of Madison, AL and Trena Benson and husband, Randy, of Montgomery, TX. She was the loving "Memaw" to seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, October 14, 2022, at Conroe Church of Christ, 1860 Longmire Road, Conroe, TX 77304. A graveside service will take place at 2:30 pm, also on Friday, October 14, at San Jacinto Memorial Park, 14659 East Fwy, Houston, TX 77015.

Every child at Channelview Church of Christ knew Mrs Ferguson because of her cards they received in the mail every year for their birthday with a $1 bill in the card. Her and Mr Ferguson were such fine examples of loving Christian people and were so sweet. I know it was a wonderful reunion in heaven when she was welcomed by Bill at those Pearly Gates. She was a wonderful cook and I still think of the buttermilk pie she made and brought to us when my son was born just a little over 19 years ago. I know she will be missed but she lived a wonderful long life serving others.

Our prayers are with you.
In Christian Love,
Wendy Bartee & family

To the Ferguson family-
I´m sorry I won´t be able to attend her service, if it wasn´t for work I would be there. Margaret was such a sweet lady, her and Bill both were very kind, and I remember them since I was a child. Going to their house with the youth group, and then as an adult at Conroe Church. And her chess cake recipe is still a family and personal favorite of mine, and every time I make it I think of her. I loved getting to see her and just give her a hug or tell her hello, and sadly it´s been too long now. I wish y´all much comfort, love, and peace during this time. May she Rest In Peace and feel joy in His presence and happiness in reuniting with Bill. Sending y´all lots of love and prayers. Rebecca Paterson
