Margaret D. Fierke

Margart Fierke better known as Peg. She was raised in Tinley Park, Illinois. She graduated from Central School and went on to graduate from Bremen High School in Midlothian, Illinois.

College included a year at Thornton Junior College in Harvey, Illinois. From there she went on to the University of Illinois where she attained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1966, she went on to receive a Master of Fine Arts in 1968. During her college career she was honored on the Bronze Tablet and graduated with Honors. She began teaching at Herron School of Art which became part of IUPUI in 1969. She became an Associate professor until retirement in 2006. She was a prolific artist with works throughout Indianapolis and with work displayed at St. Vincents Hospital, Indiana Museum of Art, Newfields, Herron School of Art a part of IU Indianapolis, The Victoria and Albert Museum in London, England, and The Smithsonian Institution.

Peg is survived by her brother, Charles, sister-in-law, Judy who was married to her brother William; two nephews, Bill and David; a niece, Diana; and nine great nephews and nieces.

Memorial Gathering will be held from 10:00am-12:00pm with Memorial Service immediately following on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd. W. Dr. Indianapolis.
