Margaret Hanson passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023, in Fargo, ND, at the age of 92. She was the second oldest child, born on November 25, 1930, to John and Pernellie (Adams) Klatt in Killdeer, ND. She had eleven siblings. She was baptized and confirmed to the St. John's Lutheran Church in Killdeer, ND. She grew up and attended school in Killdeer, ND, graduating from Killdeer High School in 1948. She married Marvin Hanson on October 12, 1951, in Killdeer, ND. They lived in Tioga, ND, Minot, ND, and Williston, ND, before divorcing in 1970.
She moved to Fargo, went back to college, and graduated from NDSU in 1974 with a BS and, in 1976, an MS degree. She moved to Montana and then to Wyoming for a career as an addiction counselor. She moved back to Fargo/Moorhead in December 1985 to work at SE Mental Health until she retired in 1999. Her hobbies were photography, walking, and crocheting, and she was an avid reader.
Margaret is survived by her two daughters, Karla (Mike) Lien, Fargo, ND, and Cindy (Clyde) Hagen, Moorhead, MN; brothers, Herman Klatt, Northglen, CO, David (Charlotte) Klatt, Manning, ND, Richard Klatt, Billings, MT; sisters, Shirley Hawkinson, Killdeer, ND, Doris Lushbough, Bismarck, ND, and Linda (Phil) Reinbold, Bismarck, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Clarence, Wilbur, and Leslie; and two sisters, Janice and Dorothy.
